Desert & Rock Textures

Postby Hartley on Sat Oct 01, 2005 10:29 am

Anyone know any good replacement textures for rock and/or desert textures? I particularly want to get rid of the 'leopard skin' effect.

I found 2004_wood_desert.zip over at Avsim, but these include wood textures as well. I have Fscene textures installed and did not want to lose any of those.

There does not seem to be anyway of knowing the difference between the above texture sets (ie sort out the desert from the trees as they are all mixed).

Please can anyone help or advise of an alternative? I would appreciate any help or advice.

:D

I've just downloaded this file. As its individual texture bmp's they can be installed seperately. The problem is finding out which is which.
If you can figure that out then you're on a winner because it looks to be a very well done file.
Best regards.

Tom.

My thoughts exactly.

I'm hoping that someone may have had the time and patience to separate one set from the other. I don't want to lose the installed Fscene textures and I'm also hoping that the desert textures may compliment them.

Maybe others are available somewhere ???

I've posted a quick glance at the most "leopardy" textures here:

And you can also find the full list in the Terrain SDK (TerrainTextureNames.doc) available here:
