Dozens, nay, probably hundreds of simultaneous downloads - ye gods, have ye no thought of kindness for that poor overworked server?

It's really a shame.

Have a look at this wonderful picture from Vancouver+ at Whistler. I've autogen set at dense, run a dual core X6800 OC at 3.3 GHz with a BFG 8800 GTX. FSX gives me about 55 fps and still autogen is drawn so slowly and pops up close in front of the aircraft. I wish there was some way to force FSX to draw the autogen more aggressively.

Unfortunately that's something only MS can solve for you :?

TRy setting max FPS down at 25 and reducing a few other "tasks" on Vancouver. This was something we had in Beta testing - the best compromise appears not to crank FSX as far as she'll go, but to give the hardware more draw time for distant objects.

The blessed trouble is that there is no one common version of FSX - even on identical or similar rigs.

Here's one on my rig taken on the fly - I have maxed my autoge_trees and autogen_buildings to 1500 each.

I am flying at aroound 20 FPS - silky smooth. Yes, i can hit 40+, but the refresh rate is poor.

Also - try using one of the configs supplied with VancouverPlus X - the 30 cm version is for rigs with oomph, but the 1m resolution texture is fine for overflight and allows plenty of spare processor time for distant objects.

Hi and thanks for the advice,

I'll give it a shot when I've reinstalled FSX. Suddenly I got an error that som component was damaged and that I had to run a repair. The repair hanged so tomorrow or when I get time over I'll do a complete reinstall.

Not a lot of posts about Vancouve+ yet. Hopefully that means lots of people are buying in and nobody (or very few people) has any issues.
